Footballer takes rivalry to the pitch as he tears opponent with razor blade twice (video)

- The rival match between third division side Amed SK and Sakaryaspor went sour

- AEK SK player Mansur Çalar attack captain of Sakaryaspor Ferhat Yazgan with a razor

- There was also a pitch invasion of fans which also resulted in a dressing room brawl

A rival match in the Turkish third division was taken to another level when Amed SK and Sakaryaspor met last weekend, where a player attacked his opponent with a sharp object.

According to reports, Mansur Çalar walked behind Ferhat Yazgan and attacked him with a razor blade before the match.

The Amed Sk midfielder repeated the act as he reached for the throat of the 26-year-old Sakaryaspor's player.

Yazgan shared the photo of his injuries on his Instagram handle for fans to see the damage Calar did to him.

"These football players who put [sic] the field, TFF, I hope you'll see them," Yazgan captioned the photo.

Football supporters reacted to the incident after the screen shot surfaced on social media.

"What a psycho," one user wrote on Reddit.

Another said: "That nutter should get a lifetime ban."

A third wrote: "Why hasn't this been more highlighted?"

A fourth added: "I don't think it's a razor blade, maybe some sort of screw or nail, a razor blade would have left far cleaner cuts. Either way, that f****r deserves a lifetime ban [...]."

According to Turkish news media outlet Kurdistan 24, the local rivalry also saw Amed SK's footballers and coach attacked by a 'mob of rival team's supporters,' during the match and in the dressing room.

Amed SK released videos of the fracas on social media, while Kurdistan 24 claim that there the incident in the locker room did not record injuries.

Nurullah Edemen, Amed SK chairman, said that the problems caused by Sakaryaspor and their fans, was an "ugly, disgusting and immoral nationalistic [attitude]."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that India international Sunil Chhetri is now the second leading goal scorer in international football ahead of Lionel Messi and behind Cristiano Ronaldo.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
