Fayemi mourns death of former Ekiti APC guber aspirant, says he'll be greatly missed

- A former governorship aspirant in the Ekiti state, Oluwole Oluleye, who reportedly died in Abuja after a brief illness, has described as one who will be greatly missed

- Oluleye has been described by the governor of Ekiti state as an embodiment of intellect, courage and hard work

- Fayemi also said that Oluleye was an amiable, energetic, enterprising and a highly resourceful politician

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti has commiserated with the family of Oluwole Oluleye, a former governorship aspirant in the state, who reportedly died in Abuja after a brief illness.

The late Oluleye, a former executive secretary, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), and later Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF), held the title of Oluomo of Efon Alaaye, Ekiti state.

The governor, in a statement through his chief press secretary, Yinka Oyebode, described Oluleye’s death as a huge loss, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said the late Oluleye, who was a co-governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2018 election, was an illustrious son of the state who would be sadly missed by all and sundry.

Fayemi said the news of Oluleye’s death came to him as a rude shock because he did not exhibit any sign of ill-health during their last meeting.

He described him as an amiable, energetic, enterprising and highly resourceful politician who demonstrated great lovan embodiment of intellect, courage and hard work and passion for the development of his people.

“Dr Oluleye was an embodiment of intellect, courage and hard work. He would be greatly missed,” the governor said.

He urged members of the family of the late politician as well as the Efon Alaaye community to mourn in moderation, adding that the late politician lived a good life, made his mark in public service and left a good name.

“Our prayer is that God will grant him eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Fayemi was quoted as saying in the statement.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the immediate past governor of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose, had reportedly lost his polling unit to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in governorship and state House of Assembly election held in the state on Saturday, March 9.

The former governor lost its polling booth as the APC’s candidate in Irepodun/Ifelodun constituency 2, Alhaji Hakeem Jamiu, defeated the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Sunday Omosilade.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
