Ex-president Jonathan, wife cast their votes in Otuoke (photos)

Former president Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, have cast their votes in the Saturday, March 9 governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

Jonathan and his wife voted at unit 39, Ward 13 at the Otazi Playground, Otuoke in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Jonathan and his wife voted at 10.30 a.m.

Ward 13 is made up of five communities, namely: Otuoke, Otuaba, Ewoi, Otuabula 1 and Otuabula 2.

At unit 37, the Four Square road, an unidentified youth attempted to steal a ballot box but soldiers on election monitoring chased him and he escaped to the bush.

Voting has fully commenced in most of the polling units visited and all the card readers are functioning well.

In an earlier report by Legit.ng, President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha, were said to have cast their votes at the polling unit 003 Kofar Baru III, Gidan Niyam, Daura, Katsina state.

The president, accompanied by his wife, arrived the polling unit at about 8am, where both of them were cleared and issued ballot papers by the unit presiding officer, Aliyu Abdullahi.

Once again, Buhari was captured spying on his wife’s ballot paper, as the duo casted their votes during the governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

Recall that Buhari had also spied on his wife’s ballot paper during the presidential and National Assembly elections which held on Saturday, February 23.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
