Empire star Jussie Smollett's attorney wants Nigerian brothers investigated following his release

Social media was recently been set abuzz after news broke that charges against international actor and Empire lead star, Jussie Smollett, has been dropped.

It would be recalled that Smollett had been taken into police custody on February 21, and many had expressed concerns about his possible jail term if found guilty of the charges leveled against him.

However, in a recent development, it was reported that the actor, who had been arrested for allegedly filing a fake police report, had all 16-count charge against him dropped, with his records wiped completely clean.

The actor’s release was however not enough for his attorney, who now wants appropriate authorities , to investigate the Nigerian brothers, Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo, who had made claims that the actor paid them to stage his homophobic attack.

According to reports by Page Six, the attorney, Patricia Brown Homes, when asked if cops should resume the search for Smollet’s assailant said: “The two men who attacked him have indicated that they attacked him”

Homes insisted that the two brothers were never charged even after they had said more than once that the check they received from the actor was for nutrition and training.

“The Osundairo brothers said more than once that the check they received was for exactly what Jussie said. It was for nutrition and training. They were his trainers” Holmes said.

The report further revealed that when the attorney was asked if the Nigerian brothers should face charges, Holmes said: “That’s up to the state,”
