Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on the troubled Kajuru local government area of the state.
Premium Times reports that the governor made this known in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan.

Aruwan said the curfew also affects some communities in nearby Chikun local government area.
“Security assessments have necessitated the imposition of a dusk to dawn curfew in all parts of Kajuru local government area, effective from today, Wednesday, March 13, 2019. The dusk to dawn curfew is also extended to Kujama and Maraban Rido, which are in Chikun local government.”
''The curfew in the affected areas will be in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily, until further notice.
“Security agencies have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of the curfew. The Kaduna State Government appeals to all residents and communities in the affected areas to bear the inconvenience of the curfew and cooperate with the security agencies,” Aruwan said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) on Sunday, February 17, asked Nigerians to hold Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of the state, responsible for any breakdown of law and order just as it asked for investigation into claims of the killing of some Fulanis.
The group asked the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to conduct the investigation and tell the world what actually happened in Kajuru, where the governor claimed 66 people were killed.
The group had said: “The attention of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has been drawn to a report credited to Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai over alleged killings of 66 Fulani in Kajuru local government area.
“We are at a loss as to the real motive behind the governor’s disclosure, made public less than 24 hours before the commencement of national polls that were postponed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).''
