Court orders arrest of APC governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom

Barely 24 hours to governorship election, Rivers state chief magistrate court in Port Harcourt has served an arrest warrant against Nsima Ekere, APC's candidate in Akwa Ibom state.

According to a medium, Sahara Reporter, S.D. Andrew-Jaja, chief magistrate of the court, said Ekere and one Katungo Moljengo should be arrested “in compliance with Section 138 of the Rivers state administration of Criminal Justice Law 2015.”

The court's charge, bearing the seal and signature of S.T. Dappa, principal registrar of the court, said the arrest warrant against Ekere and Moljengo was issued “in Port Harcourt under the seal of the court and hand of the presiding chief magistrate, this 5th day of March 2019."

The magistrate stated that the warrant for the arrest of Ekeme and Moljengo was issued because of the listed complaints and a suit marked PMC/MISC/15/2019 by one Multi-intelligence Development Limited.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that a sociopolitical organization in Akwa Ibom, Akwa Ibom Liberation Movement, accused the national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, of inciting violence in the state.

The group made the allegation in an open letter signed by the leader of the movement, Prince Emmanuel Sam, on Wednesday, March 6.

The APC national chairman had on Monday, March 6, when he visited the state declared that, “It will be our shame if we allow an established, biased umpire to superintend and steal the votes of Akwa Ibom people.”

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
