Breaking: NBA boss re-arraigned as court issues arrest warrant on 4 others

- Paul Usoro, the president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is facing trial at a federal High Court in Lagos

- Usoro was arraigned in a 10 count charge instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)

- Moreover, the court has approved the arrest of four other persons, said to be at large, mentioned in EFCC's charge

The president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Paul Usoro on Friday, March 1, appeared before Justice Rilwan Aikawa, of the federal High Court in Lagos, to answer to a 10 count charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Usoro pleaded not guilty to all counts of the charge. The court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest and production in court of four others named in the body of the charge, who are said to be at large, The Nation reports.

The said persons are as follows: Uwemedimo Nwoko, Margaret Ukpe, Linus Nsikn, and Mfot Udomah.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
