The human spirit is said to be that of ability, perseverance, and courage that no disability can deny according to a popular saying. Another belief says there is ability in disability.

It is a new dawn in the life of 17-year-old Shantell "Shannie" Pooser and the American Airlines with the latest employment of the teenager.

Shannie as she is fondly called was said to be born with a heart defect and a series of terminal airway defects. Legit.ng gathered that she has spent a lot of her time flying back and forth between Denmark, South Carolina to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Speaking to WIS 10 News on her desire to be a flight attendant, Shannie's mom Deanna Miller-Berry said:

"So far, we've been on over 57 (flights). That's including the connecting flights, as well, too. She saw the flight attendant, and she was like, ‘Mommy, I want to be a flight attendant.'"

Known for beating all odds posed her way because of her special needs, Shannie in 2016 was a winner despite medical report. It was reported that she came out of intensive care unit singing. Shannie was said to have undergone a major surgery that the doctors said would leave her in bad shape, Shannie "came out singing 'Let It Go' from Frozen,"

CBS News reports her mother saying. "The surgeons were standing around like, 'We've never had anybody come out of this type of surgery talking ... this girl is singing 'Let It Go' in ICU.'"

Legit.ng gathered that on her 17th birthday, American Airlines helped make one of her wishes come true by inducting Shannie, who has Down syndrome, as its first flight attendant with special needs.

The airline also threw her a birthday party on a Boeing jet and Shannie was presented an official uniform and badge to wear every time she travels.

Due to her state of health, Shannie cannot undertake long flights despite that, it was gathered that she has worked in full uniform four times since her 17th birthday in October.

It is her mother's desire that she will be officially employed by American Airlines by the time she turns 18.

Another of Shannie's wish is to meet with America's former president Obama and his family. We pray she get that answered soon too.

In another news, Legit.ng had reported the story of a happy bride dancing happily around her disabled groom on their wedding day. The fact that her husband was confined to a wheelchair could not deny her the joy of getting married to the love of her life.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
