2019 election: Aso Rock Villa chapel holds thanksgiving service over Buhari’s victory

- The chapel at the Presidential Villa plans to hold a thanksgiving service over the re-election of Buhari and Osinbajo

- Among those expected are Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha

- Other dignitaries expected at the event are members of the Federal Executive Council, legislators and those from the judiciary

The Presidential Villa chapel plans to hold a thanksgiving service in celebration of the re-election of Muhammadu Buhari and his deputy, Vce President Yemi Osinbajo, the presidency has said.

Legit.ng learnt that the plan was conveyed in an advisory issued by the media and publicity unit of the office of the vice president on Thursday, March 28, in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the advisory said the service would be held at the State House banquet hall on March 31.

The service tagged State House Thanksgiving Concert, is to thank God for the success of the 2019 presidential poll.

Dignitaries expected at the service include Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the legislature, the judiciary, members of the diplomatic corps and the clergy.

Legit.ng earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, March 28, said that he will do his utmost to see that worthy public servants are duly rewarded by reviewing the country's pension system in his second term.

The president made this promise at the Micro Pension Plan, organised by the National Pension Commission (NPC).

Speaking at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, he said: “The dignity of retired public servants who sacrificed their lives for this country will be restored.

We will ensure all hard working Nigerians in the private sector, both formal and informal, can retire without fear.

“In addition to this program, we are also working tirelessly to sanitise some of the rot within the pension system we inherited.

"I want to assure all Nigerians that this government remains committed to resolving all pending issues on pension payment in the federal public sector despite the lean resources of government," he said.

The president also recently assured Nigerians that his government would give serious attention to the provision of critical infrastructure and stabilisation of the economy as well as the political environment in his second term.

Buhari stated this on Thursday, March 28, when he received special envoy of the president of Republic of Congo at the presidential Villa, Abuja.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
