102 elected senators, 338 Reps to get certificates of return on Thursday, March 14

- Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Thursday, March 14, give certificate of return to winners of the National Assembly polls

- Not less than 102 elected senators and 338 House of Representatives members will get this honour at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja

- However, 22 seats are up for grabs at the supplementary elections in the affected federal constituencies

Thursday, March 14, will witness the awarding of certificate of return to winners of the National Assembly election at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said that 102 senators-elect will get their certificates by on Thursday alongside 338 prospective House of Representatives members, The Nation reports.

Going by INEC's list, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has 63 senators, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 38 lawmakers, while Youth Progressives Party (YFP) has a seat.

Meanwhile, seven seats have been declared inconclusive and will be contested for in the March 23, supplementary election.

At the House of Assembly, the APC has 211 members, while the PDP has 111 members. The remaining 16 seats are shared among other political parties thus: APGA (six); African Democratic Congress (ADC), three; Action Alliance (AA) two and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), two.

African Democratic Party (ADP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) both have only one seat.

However, 22 seats are to be battled for in the supplementary elections in the affected federal constituencies.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that INEC had released a list of senators elected for the ninth assembly so far. The lawmakers were voted on Saturday, February 23 for another term of four years.

Although Nigeria has 109 senators, 100 senators were announced by INEC in the official document. Winners of rerun elections held on Saturday March 9 were yet to be included in the list.
