Woman-led robbers strip driver of car, money and other possessions (photo)

- A female-led robbery gang who robbed a driver has been nabbed by the police

- These suspected robbers stole a car, a sum of N20,000 and the driver's two phones

- The female suspect involved only in stealing from car drivers is being interrogated by the police.

On January 19, 2018, a taxi driver who rides under the umbrella of a popular organisation called Uber picked up a woman at Oniru whose destination was second toll gate in Lekki. On the way, she requested that the driver stop on the way so she could collect money from her boyfriend.

He obliged her and stopped. As soon as he did so, a gang of armed robbers fell upon him, robbed him of his Toyota Corolla car with Reg. No. KRD-827-EY, a sum of N20,000 and his two phones. Two members of this deadly gang identified as Zino Tochukwu Ude and Anumelechi Chris Williams have been nabbed.

The female lady suspected to have led the operation have also been exposed but her identity has not been revealed because she is being interrogated by the police who believe she can lead them to other suspects who are involved in similar crimes.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal who ordered the operation that led to the arrest of the suspects gave a press release about the event that revealed quite a lot:

“On receipt of the report, operatives of SARS, Oshodi-Tapa, Lagos Island base, swung into action and visited the scene of incident, where they picked objects of evidential value for analysis.

“The result of the enquiry led to the arrest of two of the suspects involved in the crime, namely: Zino Tochukwu Ude ‘m’ and Anumelechi Chris Williams ‘m’ and the recovery of their operational arms: a cut to size double barrel gun with two live cartridges.

“During interrogation, they confessed to the crime and aided operatives to recover the stolen car. They equally confessed to series of car snatching operations in Lagos and other contiguous States. They also led the operatives to recover one Honda Saloon Car with Reg. No. GGE-954-BQ which they snatched in Delta State.”

According to Imohimi Edgal, efforts are being made on the part of the police to arrest other suspects who, for now, are on the run. Recently, Legit.ng gave a report on some dare-devil robbers who stole from a bank in Osun state.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
