Why Buhari’s order on ballot box snatching is proper - Ondo APC leader

- An executive in the the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s presidential campaign council in Ondo, Bola Ilori, has defended President Muhammadu Buhari’s order on ballot box snatching

- Ilori said that President Buhari made the remark in order to discourage thuggery and rigging during the polls

- The APC leader also said that the ruling party is prepared for hitch-free and fair polls on Saturday, February 23

Bola Ilori, the national chairman of the door-to-door wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s presidential campaign, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s shoot at sight order to security agents on ballot box snatchers was given in the effort to discourage polls rigging, The Sun reports.

Speaking during a rally in Ondo, Ilori said that the order is aimed at tackling thuggery and all ant-electoral activities which, according to him, has remained a template in the country's elections.

The APC leader remarked that the ruling party is ready for hitch-free and fair presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, February 23.

He said that President Muhammadu Buhari's achievements especially in the area of economy is evident across the country, hence the move to support his re-election bid.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Lauretta Onochie, a social media aide to President Buhari, on Tuesday, February 19, declared that the alleged controversial warning to would-be ballot snatchers during the elections is backed by the laws of the country.

Onochie, who made her position known on her social media handle, cited sections of the electoral law to back her claim.

Legit.ng had reported that President Buhari warned those who think they can lead thugs to snatch ballot boxes to desist from such because they would do so at the expense of their own lives.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
