What President Buhari has been doing and why you must re-elect him - Akpabio reveals

- APC south-south zonal woman leader, Rachel Akpabio, has said that re-electing President Muhammadu Buhari will save the country from moral decadence

- Akpabio said that the country was almost neck deep in crises in various sectors until the president took over

- The woman leader also said that Buhari on assumption of office studied crises threatening the country and had been strategically tackling them

Rachel Akpabio, the south-south zonal woman leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election has become very critical to saving the country from moral decadence.

Akpabio made the assertion during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, February 6 in Port Harcourt.

Legit.ng gathers that she said that the country was almost neck deep in crises in various sectors ranging from economy to security until the timely intervention of the present administration.

The woman leader said that some Nigerians who had been criticising the present administration had failed to consider the positive implications of President Buhari’s re-election.

She said: “Believe it or not, there was the challenge of moral decadence before this administration came on board .

“We were already running into crises, for instance, the former finance minister, Okonjo Iweala, once said that she had advised the government to save for the rainy day and the advice was not effectively harnessed.

“Even the former Central Bank of Nigeria governor (CBN), Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, once talked greatly about the 20 billion dollars that was not being remitted to the federation account.

“ Same goes for Professor Charles Soludo, also a former CBN governor, who also warned against mismanagement by government.

“All these technocrats were in government and they all expressed sincere views on the rate of moral decadence facing the country.”

Akpabio said that Buhari on assumption of office diligently studied the various crises threatening growth of the country and had been strategically tackling them.

The woman leader added: “All we need to do as lovers of our dear country is to allow the president consolidate on all his achievements.

“It’s saddening that some persons see the president as being slow but I see him as a diligent servant leader.

“A beautifully constructed building with visible cracks cannot be inhabited until such engineering fault is corrected to avoid collapse.

“Buhari in this instance, is fixing our cracked walls, he is moulding leadership in Nigeria, making sure that only the right technocrats occupy sacred positions with an objective of building a reliable nation.''

Akpabio also said that though the most expected 35 %t affirmative action had yet to be achieved by the present administration, an encouraging number of women were presently occupying various positions of trust.
