- TV presenter, Shade Ladipo has taken to social media to share an opinion on the Gbenro and Osas marriage saga

- According to the media personality, the actress married below her standards and the recent event has proven this to be true

- She went on to urge ladies to never marry below their standards and should be patient with finding love

Earlier on, there was major drama on social media after Nollywood actor and model, Gbenro Ajibad, took to his Instagram story to attack his wife for what he claims is her bad parenting. The post immediately went viral and many people have since reacted, expressing their views on the issue.

Amongst them is Nigerian TV presenter, Shade Ladipo who spared no words in expressing her take on the matter. According to the newly wed, Osas married below her level and this is obviously the reason for this marital issue.

She wrote: "My Musings is about Marrying Up or Marrying Down While I will focus on Marrying down, in my opinion Marrying Up also has its huge challenges.I’m pained when I see amazing, hardworking and determined women try to be put down by Society, Culture and then by Family

Ladipo went on to advice singe ladies not to let people pressure them into settling with anyone as their happiness should be their utmost concern.

According to her, there's a person for everyone and in due time, love will find them. She also stated that a man who truly loves you will never have a problem with being in the shadows so his woman can shine as women have been known for doing the same for men.

"Family in this case is your spouse. Pls do not put yourself under any undue pressure to get married and then end up with a loser who will be threatened every time you breathe.Your calling is great and the man you marry must be able to take it and run with it.You need a man who understands that he must be your champion on and off the field.

A man who is ready to be in the shadows so you can shine. Most women are ready to do this for their men so My dear pls don’t for 1 second think you don’t deserve such. Also pls let me debunk the lies ...The man who will love you and worship you is waiting for you, don’t allow anyone fool you into believing that your Age or Stage will reduce those chances C0ck & Bull "

She also had some advice for women who rush into marriage in order to have children on time.

Your chances are as high as YOU want them.Your self confidence and Self love will attract exactly the kind of man you deserve. There is no Marriage O’Clock and if pikin is your worry then Freeze your eggs or Adopt. Your happiness and Peace should always be Number 1. Don’t settle for anything less. Don’t Marry Down. Don’t Marry Up

Marry your Partner. Someone who sees you. Someone who accepts you.m Someone who wants you to do better than him. Someone who loves you more than himself. I always felt She was Marrying Down and from that illiterate rant, I was right. #YouAreAmazingAndAwesome #DontLetAnyoneTellYouOtherwise #YouAreBlackGirlMagic #ShadeHasSpoken

The Transitional Phase of African Poetry

The Transitional Phase The second phase, which we have chosen to call transitional, is represented by the poetry of writers like Abioseh Nicol, Gabriel Okara, Kwesi Brew, Dennis Brutus, Lenrie Peters and Joseph Kariuki. This is poetry which is written by people we normally refer to as modem and who may be thought of as belonging to the third phase. The characteristics of this poetry are its competent and articulate use of the received European language, its unforced grasp of Africa’s physical, cultural and socio-political environment and often its lyricism. To distinguish this type of poetry we have to refer back to the concept of appropriation we introduced earlier. At the simplest and basic level, the cultural mandate of possessing a people’s piece of the earth involves a mental and emotional homecoming within the physical environment. Poems like Brew’s ‘‘Dry season”, Okara’s “Call of the River Nun”, Nicol’s “The meaning of Africa” and Soyinka’s “Season”, to give a few examples,

The pioneering phase of African Poetry

The pioneering phase We have called the first phase that of the pioneers. But since the phrase “pioneer poets” has often been used of writers of English expression like Osadebay, Casely-Hayford and Dei-Anag, we should point out that our “pioneer phase” also includes Negritude poets of French expression. The poetry of this phase is that of writers in “exile” keenly aware of being colonials, whose identity was under siege. It is a poetry of protest against exploitation and racial discrimination, of agitation for political independence, of nostalgic evocation of Africa’s past and visions of her future. However, although these were themes common to poets of both English and French expression, the obvious differences between the Francophone poets and the Anglophone writers of the 1930s and 1940s have been generally noted. Because of the intensity with which they felt their physical exile from Africa, coupled with their exposure to the experimental contemporary modes of writing in F
