Senator Ben Bruce tweets about rate of unemployment in the country, Nigerian youths react

Political time is always an interesting period as political parties try to expose the laxity of the other parties so as to canvass for votes for their party. Senator Ben Bruce employed the unemployment rate in the country.

On Friday, February 8, took to his Twitter handle to talk about the rate of unemployment in the country which according to him was caused by the ruling party the All progressives Congress.

He noted that about 14 million jobs have been lost in the last four years and that him being an employer of labour struggle not to sack any of his 1058 staff even at his own expense.

According to Bruce, because he is struggling to pay ensure that he pays his staff members their due salary, he could not afford to service his cars. He wrote:

‘14 million Nigerians lost jobs in the last 4 years. I am employee of labour, and I know how much I have struggled to ensure that I do not sack any of my 1058 staff. Sometimes, I can’t even service my cars. So don’t tell me you will create jobs when you spent 4 years losing jobs!”

But rather than support him on this, some Nigerian youths came for the senator representing Bayelsa east at the Senate. See their reactions below:

One Twitter user even recommended Bruce for an appointment to the aviation sector:

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Senator Ben Bruce will cease to be in the Senate handing over as he is not contesting in the 2019 election.

Bruce on Monday, October 1, announced his withdrawal to return to the Senate for a second term. The common sense senator in a letter posted on his Facebook page on the eve of the senatorial primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) thanked his district for giving him the opportunity to serve.

Bruce assured the party of his availability and readiness to serve at any capacity when the opportunity comes.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
