The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started the conduct of rescheduled elections in four different voting centres, which against one that was earlier announced, in Gwaram local government area of Jigawa state.
The reason for previously rescheduling the elections for Sunday, February 25, was because the card reader used at the general elections on Saturday, February 23, failed to work, Daily Trust reports.

It was reported that that Mahmood Isa, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the earlier said that the rescheduled elections were taking place in only one polling unit.
Idris Garba Gwaram, the Speaker of Jigawa state House of Assembly, however, confirmed the rescheduled election in four polling units while speaking with journalist in his home town of Gwaram.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara state said it welcomed Thursday’s clearance by an Abuja Court of Appeal to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state to participate in the 2019 general elections.
The PDP governorship candidate in the state, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, made the commendation while speaking to journalists in reaction to the development.
