Osinbajo presents 2-bedroom apartment to best teacher in Edo

- The best teacher in Edo state, Noragbon Osaru, has been rewarded for her enviable efforts by the presidency

- Osaru, on Thursday, January 31, was gifted with the keys to a two-bedroom apartment by the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo

- During the ceremony in honour of the school teacher, Osinbajo said that the federal government is committed to providing affordable housing to the people

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday, January 31, presented keys to a two-bedroom apartment to the best teacher in Edo, Noragbon Osaru for her outstanding performance in her profession.

Osinbajo made the presentation when he inaugurated 100 housing units at Emotan Gardens in Benin, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Osinbajo said: ”I am presenting the keys to a two-bedroom apartment to you for your outstanding performance and commitment to the teaching profession.”

According to Osinbajo, the federal government is committed to providing affordable housing to the people.

Welcoming the vice-president earlier, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo said: “This is cluster one of Emotan Gardens which you laid the foundation few months ago, 100 of them are ready for inauguration.

“As a government we have bought 10 of the houses while about 50 of the houses have been sold to the public.”

According to Obaseki, one of the houses will be presented to the best teacher in the state for her outstanding performance and commitment to the teaching profession.

Osinbajo in June launched the construction of the 1,727 Emotan Garden housing units in Egba, Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Osinbajo began the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) in Edo, to provide free meals for children in public schools.

The vice president said that the NHGSFP caters for not less than 9.3 million children in 49,937 public primary schools in 27 states, adding that this requires 594 cows are killed, 138,000 chickens killed, and 83 million tonnes of fish.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
