Nigeria's Super Eagles drop 2 places as FIFA release first ranking of 2019

- Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped two places on the latest FIFA ranking released on February 7

- The three time AFCON kings were 44th in the last edition of the ranking released in December 2018

- Coach Gernot Rohr's men are 4th behind Senegal, Tunisia, and Morocco on the African ranking

Nigeria's Super Eagles dropped two places on the latest FIFA ranking to finish 46th for the month of January 2019.

The three time African champions, who wrapped the out gone year as the 44th best team failed to climb further up in the first month of the new year due to lack of action at the country level.

Coach Gernot Rohr's men however maintain their fourth position on the African continent with 1427 points.

Meanwhile, Senegal retain their top position on the log while Tunisia and Morocco complete the top three positions.

Belgium retain their top position on the global ranking with 1727 points followed by 2018 World Cup winners World Cup, France.

Brazil, Croatia and England completes the top five teams in the world for the month under review.

Qatar according to the world football governing body are the biggest climbers owing to their triumph in the recently concluded Asian Cup.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles of Nigeria retained their 44th position in the latest FIFA world ranking of all the national football teams.

The three-time African champions finished fourth in Africa behind Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal who are occupying first position.

And the global ranking, Senegal who are first in Africa are placed number 23 in the world, while Tunisia who are second are occupying 26th in the world ranking.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
