Nigeria's Super Eagles dropped two places on the latest FIFA rankings to finish 46th for the month of January 2019.
The three time African champions, who wrapped the out gone year as the 44th best team failed to climb further up in the first month of the new year due to lack of action at the country level.
Coach Gernot Rohr's men however maintain their fourth position on the African continent with 1427 points.
Meanwhile, Senegal retain their top position on the log while Tunisia and Morocco complete the top three positions.
Belgium retain their top position on the global ranking with 1727 points followed by 2018 World Cup winners World Cup, France.
Brazil, Croatia and England completes the top five teams in the world for the month under review.
Qatar according to the world football governing body are the biggest climbers owing to their triumph in the recently concluded Asian Cup.
