Nigerian newspaper Vanguard reports President Muhammadu Buhari, in Ondo State asked Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to stop making noise about plans to rig elections when their mentor, former President Olusegun Obasanjo had always rigged elections on the platform of the party.

According to him, PDP has no right to complain about election rigging when they never had the capacity of conducting a free and fair election during their stay in power.

Nigerian newspaper The Guardian reports that the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, yesterday described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a beneficiary of rigged elections.At the party’s presidential rally in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Tinubu alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under former Obasanjo, rigged elections in its favour in 2003 and 2007.

Nigerian newspaper The Punch the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has described as “most irresponsible” the comments of the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the European Union on President Muhammadu Buhari’s suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, who is facing non-declaration of assets charges.

He said the foreign countries had no right to lecture Nigerians how to run their country.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
