Manchester City plot £80m raid on English defensive pair as Mendy’s replacement

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is plotting a massive a £80m raid on the pair of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ben Chilwell.

According to Metro report citing The Sun, the Spaniard wants the English pair to further beef up his full-back options, with French World Cup winner Benjamin Mendy struggling with injuries.

At the last count, the Frenchman, who arrived Etihad from Monaco in a move reported fee of about £52m has only featured in 18 games so far.

Guardiola is now eager splash the cash into add more quality to the Citizens defence line with the signing of Wan-Bissaka and Chilwell.

Already, Chilwell has turned himself into an important squad member in Leicester defence in the last two campaigns, and Man City are keen to table a £50m bid for defence ace.

Although, the 22-year-old recently penned an extension at the Foxes last October, but the possibility of playing under guidance of Guardiola could a turning point.

On the other hand, City are planning to offer £30m for Crystal Palace 21-year Old Wan-Bissaka, who is on the verge of picking his first England invitation courtesy of his decent performance fir the Eagles.

However, in the past seasons, City have struggled to sign English “home grown” talents, but time will tell of the deals will see the light of the day.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City Phil Foden has emerged the youngest father in the Premier League, at just 18.

According to a UK Sun report, Foden, who is rated as one of England’s emerging talents welcomed a baby- boy with his 18-year-old girlfriend Rebecca Cooke.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
