Lagos, Kaduna lead as JAMB registers 1,205,187 candidates for 2019 UTME’s

- JAMB has registered 1,205,187 candidates for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

- The highest registrations were recorded in Lagos (161,654 candidates) and Kaduna (76,049 candidates)

- JAMB also stated that valid UTME registration would be conducted by accredited Computer-Based Test Centres which would also serve as examination centres

1,205,187 candidates have been registered by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) taking place between Saturday, March 16 and Saturday, March 23.

The development was made public in a release issued from the office of the registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, on Monday, February 4, Punch reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the highest registrations were recorded in Lagos (161,654 candidates) and Kaduna (76,049 candidates).

JAMB also stated that the phone numbers used for profile code registration, electronic pin vending and registration by candidates for the previous UTME, cannot be used by other persons, for the 2019 episode of the examination. According to the board, the phone numbers can only be used by the same candidates.

JAMB further stated that valid UTME registration would be conducted by accredited Computer-Based Test Centres which would also serve as examination centres.

The board said: “Previously used numbers for JAMB registrations can only be re-used by the same candidate, not another candidate. A previously used number is a GSM telephone number used for profile code creation, electronic pin vending and registration in previous registration exercises. This can be used for the 2019 registration only by the same candidate.

“The candidate who is using his or her previous number for the second or third time will use the same profile code to purchase the new electronic pin. If the profile code has been forgotten, the candidate can retrieve it through a text message.

“In other words, the old profile code can be used by the same candidate to procure the new electronic pin.”

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released the list of Professional Testing Centres (PTCs) and Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) giving provisional registration for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The list included centres in states all across the federation.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
