The former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in search of the presidency, his successor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has alleged.
Ganduje made the claim on Tuesday, February 5, saying that as a result of this, Kwankwaso has lost out in the political scheme.

The governor said Kwankwaso did not know or may have forgotten that the presidency he was searching for was already occupied.
“Kwankwaso looked for an ambition that does not exist in APC he left the party after realising that; but still lost out in the PDP, making him almost losing out in the scheme of things generally.
“Kano politics is Buhari and Buhari is Kano politics; today Kano people and APC stand firm behind President Muhammadu Buhari and there is nothing anybody can do about that,” he said.
Governor Ganduje further declared that the APC in Kano has no conflict arguing that the party’s primaries were done without problems.
“Today, we have 30 out of 40 House of Assembly members contesting without any problem and out of three senators, two are going back without any problem,” he added.
Legit.ng, however, reported that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje ordered the immediate closure of two major stadiums in the state.
The governor reportedly gave this order on Tuesday, February 5, five days to Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign rally.
The governor ordered the renovation of Sani Abacha Stadium situated at Kofar Mata and Kano Pillars stadium at Sabon Gari and this is expected to end on February 18.
