Father of late Benaiah thanks Nigerians as he reveals why his baby's treatment was delayed

Nigerians were recently shocked at the news of the death of a little child, Benaiah, who had been said to have multiple holes in his heart.

The news about Benaiah came to the fore after his father, Monday Agoboye, took to the streets in protest after his cry for help and medical assistance for his son was reportedly ignored by the Rivers state government.

His plight moved Nigerians so much that they rallied round and donated over N70 million to save his child in just two days.

However despite the problem of funds being solved, little Benaiah died on February 15, 2019, before he could travel out of the country for treatment.

His father has now taken to social media to thank Nigerians and to explain why his son’s treatment was delayed.

He wrote:

“It is with great sadness that We announce the passing of our son, Baby Benaiah “braveheart” Agoboye. Baby Benaiah died on our way to the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos for a flight to Dubai Scheduled for 12.55pm local time yesterday, the 15th of February, 2019. In our company at the time was the Doctor, whose duty was to manage Benaiah’s health on the trip. He battled extensively as we raced to Afriglobal Medicare, the nearest health facility on our way to the Airport, from where we proceeded to LASUTH; where unfortunately Baby Benaiah passed at about 10.30am. His body remains at LASUTH awaiting autopsy.

"The family is deeply saddened by this event, as all arrangements had been concluded for Benaiah’s treatment at the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital(FZ LLC) in Dubai. We scheduled to Fly with Emirates Airline, which was specially equipped with the facilities to manage Benaiah’s condition at a high altitude. We got into Lagos (when) in preparations to fly earlier but had to wait our turn since we were informed by the airline that there were other passengers with medical conditions earlier scheduled for the same arrangement.

We also thank the team at LASUTH for their effort and support.

"The family is also overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of love, support and prayers we have received from around the world. We give special appreciation to all of you who went out of your way to give your hard earned money and precious time to post and brought baby beniaiah’s story to the world: @kbkonline, @daddyfrz, @lexy014u, @holygist media, @Tatafonaija, @lindaikejiblog, @instablog9ja, @TundeEdnut, Susie Retty and all the bloggers and individuals out there too numerous to mention. RIP to the dead.

It was previously reported that the family members of sick Benaiah seemed to be unreachable after Nigerians donated money towards his health.

However, his father denied claims of absconding and that he decided to remain low key because he had been getting calls from several people who did not mean well.

The properties taken over include House No. 15, Addis Ababa Crescent, Wuse Zone 4, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and House No. 4, Bangui Street, Wuse 2, also in Abuja.  Reacting to the situation, Galadima said, “This is an attempt to disgrace and break me down. This is injustice and an attempt to humiliate me. "But I am unbreakable and they can never silence me. They sacked me and over 50 people that sleep in the apartment. "We don’t know where to go.
