EXCLUSIVE: We're sure of returning for a second term - Osinbajo

- Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday, February 23, expressed certainty that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be victorious in the elections

- Osinbajo made this remark after casting his vote at his ward in Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos

- He further said that Nigeria is much better under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari

Just after he voted at his VGC polling unit in Lagos, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo spoke with Legit.ng on the ongoing voting exercise on Saturday, February 23.

Osinbajo expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will return to power and retain its ruling position.

The vice president said: “We are very very confident indeed. We have gone round the Country and spoken to the nation about the need for us to continue in the path we have set, a path to growth and development for the nation, and we believe we deserve a second term in order to be able to complete all that we have started."

Speaking further with Legit.ng's Abisola Alawode, Osinbajo said that the nation will be better with President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership.

He said: “We’ve also said that this country in the next four years by the grace of God and with the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari will be a completely changed nation; a nation of peace and progress.”

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, exercised their franchise in the 2019 presidential election at the VGC, Lagos on Saturday, February 23. Osinbajo, who is from Ikenne, Ogun state, lived and worked in Lagos before he became vice president in 2015.

He was Attorney-general and Commissioner of justice in Lagos State from 1999 until 2007. Osinbajo also worked as a professor of law at the University of Lagos for many years.
