Chelsea stars react after Sarri's row with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga

Maurizio Sarri had the backing of Chelsea squad members after his recent substitution row with 24-year-old goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during the EFL Cup defeat by Manchester City on Sunday.

According to The Mirror, the Spanish goalkeeper is facing a counteraction from Blues teammates, who are backing the Italian manager alongside substitute goalkeeper Willy Caballero after his unprofessional act after he refused to be replaced in the closing moments of the EFL Cup loss to Manchester City.

Already, Sarri has blasted the young goalkeeper after the incident, and publicly revealed that no further punishment will be handed to him and could likely feature the Spaniard against Tottenham on Wednesday.

At some point, the former Napoli boss was heard accusing Kepa of openly disregarding his orders before Germany star Antonio Rudiger pleaded with the 60-year-old to calm down.

Chelsea will play host to Tottenham in a Premier League contest on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.

But the football tactician will address a media parley ahead of the big game on Tuesday afternoon.

Chelsea star David Luiz also backed Sarri after the row as he was visibly unhappy with the keeper for disrespecting the manager’s instruction.

He is a fantastic person so, of course, the players are with him. I wish I had given that (trophy) to Sarri. The coach has the power over the group. He has our respect,” Luiz said.

Similarly, former Chelsea star Michael Ballack insists Kepa did not get it right on the night and remains bitter with the goalkeeper’s behaviour on the night.

“I've never seen anything like it. If your number is shown on the board, it's time to leave the pitch.

"If the coach has decided something, you should follow that process. I was surprised by the reaction of the team,” he added.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester City have been crowned the 2019 EFL Cup champions after beating Chelsea on penalties at the Wembley Stadium.

The Citizens beat Chelsea 4-3 on penalties after both teams failed to find the back of the net in open play after 120 minutes.

Sunday evening's victory means that the Etihad Stadium outfit have won six EFL Cup titles since the start of the competition - after successfully defending the title they won last term.

The Transitional Phase of African Poetry

The Transitional Phase The second phase, which we have chosen to call transitional, is represented by the poetry of writers like Abioseh Nicol, Gabriel Okara, Kwesi Brew, Dennis Brutus, Lenrie Peters and Joseph Kariuki. This is poetry which is written by people we normally refer to as modem and who may be thought of as belonging to the third phase. The characteristics of this poetry are its competent and articulate use of the received European language, its unforced grasp of Africa’s physical, cultural and socio-political environment and often its lyricism. To distinguish this type of poetry we have to refer back to the concept of appropriation we introduced earlier. At the simplest and basic level, the cultural mandate of possessing a people’s piece of the earth involves a mental and emotional homecoming within the physical environment. Poems like Brew’s ‘‘Dry season”, Okara’s “Call of the River Nun”, Nicol’s “The meaning of Africa” and Soyinka’s “Season”, to give a few examples,

Galadima, an ardent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, claimed that he did not borrow money or have unpaid debt with Unity Bank, which lodged a complaint against him and occasioned AMCON’s move on Tuesday. The properties taken over include House No. 15, Addis Ababa Crescent, Wuse Zone 4, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and House No. 4, Bangui Street, Wuse 2, also in Abuja.  Reacting to the situation, Galadima said, “This is an attempt to disgrace and break me down. This is injustice and an attempt to humiliate me. "But I am unbreakable and they can never silence me. They sacked me and over 50 people that sleep in the apartment. "We don’t know where to go.
