Chelsea star Kante talks tough ahead of EFL Cup final against Man City at Wembley Stadium

- The last meeting between both sides earlier this saw the Blues thrashed 6-0 by Pep Guardiola's men

- N'golo Kante believes his side can stop Man City and win the title after proceedings this weekend

Chelsea star N'golo Kante has insisted that his side can beat Manchester City when they faceoff at Wembley Stadium in the final of the EFL Cup on Sunday, February 24.

It will be recalled that the Blues were demolished 6-0 by the Citizens in the second leg of their Premier League clash at Etihad Stadium barely two weeks ago.

And the Mirror reports that the 2018 World Cup winner believes the defending champions are not invincible.

"I think it’s possible. They are not unbeatable. We need to go with a lot of hope and to prepare for the game in the best way.

"They are a great team. We played them three times this season. In the last three months we played them at home and away. They were two different games.

"The manager will come up with a plan for the game. We need to know that we can win like at Stamford Bridge, or we can lose as at the Etihad. Everything is possible. It gives us more awareness of this team.

"After our last result against Man City, it was difficult to accept the defeat. We lost again against Manchester United.

"The victory (against Malmo) is good to give us confidence and look forward to the final in the best way and to be ready, to hopefully win the final.

Every defeat like this is difficult to accept as a player. At Chelsea we are not used to that. It was difficult to accept.

"At the end we cannot change it. We need to accept it and go forward and do better. That’s what we try to do."

The French has been handed a new role under new boss Maurizio Sarri, but the Frenchman seems to be enjoying his new position.

Kante said: “It is something possible but the manager decides. It’s fine, it’s fine. Like I say, I like this position. I’m with the manager and I’m enjoying the way I’m playing now.

Sometimes the manager wants me to play in this position. It is a position I used to play when I was in France. I’m enjoying participating more in the offensive positions to change the game. I am enjoying it.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri says N'Golo Kante will be left out of his natural position in the Blues' clash against Malmoe FF in Thursday's night Europa League tie.

Sarri claimed that the France international cannot move the ball fast enough in the midfield the way he would have loved the movement to be.

The former Napoli coach is currently under serious pressure at Chelsea following embarrassing defeats against Manchester City and Manchester United.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
