Cause of Yemi Osinbajo’s helicopter crash revealed

- The management of Caverton helicopters say all passengers and crew on-board the Augusta helicopter which crashed in Kogi state suffered no injuries

- The company states that it had informed the relevant authorities about the incident and that investigation into the crash had commenced

The management of Caverton helicopters has said unusual weather condition caused the helicopter conveying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to crash in Kogi state on Saturday, February 2.

The company in a statement on Saturday night, February 2, noted that the passengers and crew on-board the Augusta helicopter which crashed suffered no injuries. It said they were all safely evacuated.

The firm said it had informed the relevant authorities about the incident and that investigation into the crash had commenced.

The management of Caverton also reassured the public of its commitment to ensure high standard of safety is carried out in all its operations.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has thanked God for sparing the life of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and others on-board a helicopter which crash-landed in Kogi state on Saturday, February 2.

Buhari in telephone call he made to the vice president on Saturday said he was impressed with the tenacious spirit displayed by Osinbajo which enabled him to continue on his campaign engagement after surviving the crash, presidential aide, Garba Shehu noted in a statement released on Sunday, February 3.

The president prayed for God continue to protect Osinbajo and all those on-board with him in the incident. He also asked God to grant Osinbajo more good health and long life to serve Nigeria.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
