Buhari to Nigerian workers: Reject sale of NNPC with your votes

- President Muhammadu Buhari has urged worlkers to reject sale of the nation’s refineries and NNPC privatisation

- The president disclosed this when he declared open the ongoing Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC Delegates conference

- According to him, this administration has always regarded NLC as partners in progress

Nigerians workers have been urged by President Muhammadu Buhari to reject sale of the nation’s refineries and NNPC privatisation with their votes in the coming general elections.

President Buhari who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha disclosed this when he declared open the ongoing Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC Delegates conference at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

According to him, the administration is committed to enhancing the welfare of Nigerian workers and will ensure that a decent wage is packaged for the workers.

“The impression I will leave is that any candidate that is a proponent of the sale of our refineries and also the privatisation of NNPC will not get the vote of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC. Appropriate action will be taken to address all the areas that concern the labour movement.

“You will agree with me that this administration has always regarded NLC as partners in progress. I want to seize this opportunity to reassure you of the commitment of the administration on the issues of welfare of workers, which is evidence by the numerous programmes and policies by this administrative in promoting the interest and wellbeing of work force

“The administration is also committed to addressing other issues that are still pending," he said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) over the weekend cautioned Nigerians against heightened expectation of crude oil discovery in some states in the northern part of the country.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
