Breaking: Kogi governor's wife, others survive car crash during APC campaign

The wife of the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has been involved in an accident at Kabba, the area where the aircraft of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo crash-landed last week.

Amina Bello survived the crash alongside three aides to the governor on the morning of Saturday, February 9.

A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Onogwu Muhammed, said everyone involved in the accident are in perfect condition.

He also appreciated God for His faithfulness to the Bello's family and families of all others involved.

The statement said: "In appreciation to God almighty for His faithfulness to the New Direction family, the Kogi State government wishes to announce that three aides to the governor and his wife survived an accident this morning.

The Senior Special Assistant on Women and Children to the Governor, Mrs Kenechi Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to the wife of the Governor on Women affairs, Mrs Ejura Edward and the Special Assitant on Media and Publicity to the wife of the Governor Mrs Adesoro Olamide were involved in a minor auto accident this morning around Oshokoshoko village while on their way to Isanlu for the All Progressives Congress women rally but came out unhurt.

The government appreciate God once again, that all persons are in perfect condition. The Governors wife’s door-door campaign train continues with their rally to the western senatorial district after a successful 2 days outing in Kogi east," Muhammed said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that what would have been a national disaster was averted on Saturday, February 2, 2019, as the chopper of Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, crash-landed in Kabba, a town in Kogi state.

Osinbajo's spokesperson, Laolu Aknade, confirmed the incident, but said the vice president was safe and that no casualties were recorded.

"VP Osinbajo's chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe. He is continuing with his engagements and plans for the day in Kogi state," Akande had said.
