Breaking: Jose Mourinho's greatest enemy lands 1st managerial job in England

- Paul Scholes, former Manchester United star lands first managerial job

- The Red Devils legend has been named the new League Two side Oldham United

- Scholes will be unveiled by the club on Monday with the former midfielder holding his first press conference thereafter

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has been named the new boss of League Two side Oldham Athletic.

The 44-year-old former midfielder is expected to take charge of proceedings at the Boundary Park on Monday.

According to Sky Sports, Scholes will be unveiled to the club fans the same day after which he will hold his first press conference.

Reports also revealed that his chances of been appointed the manager of the club was threatened by his affiliation with another lower league side Salford City.

However, the EFL board was said to have cleared him after holding an emergency meeting over his case.

The law guiding the league says anyone with conflict of interest will not be allowed to take any role, and since the former midfielder keeps ten percent of shares at Salford, it became difficult.

Sky Sports further reports that the only restriction to the 44-year-old is he will not be allowed to sign players from, or sell to, Salford City.

Academy head coach Pete Wild has been in caretaker charge at the Latics since Frankie Bunn's sacking on 27 December.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is close to landing first managerial job after being cleared by the English Football league board.

The 44-year-old is one of the owners of National League club Salford City along with five of his former Red Devils team-mates.

According to BBC, EFL laws frown at anyone with dual roles with two clubs at the same time without the prior consent of the board.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
