The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Demsa local government area of Adamawa state, Hamisu Mijinyawa, who was abducted by unknown gunmen about a week ago has reportedly regained freedom.
The publicity secretary of APC, Mohammed Abdullahi, reportedly confirmed the release of Demsa LGA APC chairman.
Recall that Hamisu Mijinyawa was abducted last week and taken to an unknown destination.The party chieftain was said to have been abducted by around 1am on Wednesday, January 30, at his residence ahead of the flag-off of the presidential/governorship campaign in Demsa local government area of the state.

His abduction was confirmed by Mark Dauda, an official of APC in the state, who stated that kidnappers were demanding a ransom of N20 million to release their victim.
"The chairman was picked in his house in Demsa around 1am last night, but we're talking, we're negotiating his release," he said.
"They've demanded N20 million ransom, that's all I can tell you for now."

In a related development, Chief Donatus Nwankpa, the abducted chairman of the APC in Abia state has reportedly been released by his abductors.
The state publicity secretary of the party, Benedict Godson, said on Friday, February 1, that Nwankpa was released by his abductors on Thursday night, January 31.
Godson said Nwankpa who was kidnapped on Monday night, January 28, on his way to Aba, was released without any ransom.
The party’s spokesperson noted that the APC chieftain was released after members of the party pleaded with his abductors to also release him unconditionally on the grounds that he is a good man that is loved by all.
“We thank God for his safe return and we appreciate all those who, in one way or the other, contributed to his safe return," the party’s spokesperson said.
