Arsenal fans make huge demand from Unai Emery after BATE loss

Arsenal fans could not keep their peace after the Emirates dwellers performed below expectations during 1-0 defeat against BATE Borisov.

At the end of 90 minutes, Stanislaw Drahun's only goal during the match in Belarus, ensured that Arsenal’ ball possession dominated failed to count at the end.

A breakdown of Arsenal’s performance on the night showed that the Unai Emery's side had a total of 16 shots at goal, but only three of the shots hit target, while their hosts BATE took six shots and scored from one.

Arsenal were forced to play the closing moments with one-man less after a late red card for Alexandre Lacazette – for elbowing an opponent and also had a goal during the encounter disallowed - to sum up a poor night for the Gunners.

Despite bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lucas Torreira in the 68th minute, Emery could not save Arsenal from the cold hands of defeat.

Equally, loan arrival Denis Suarez could not save Emery’s blushes in the closing stages, but the Spaniard was once again unnoticed.

And after the blast of the final whistle the fans took to the social media to air their reactions over the shambolic show.

However, Emery must go back to the drawing board to make an important decision concerning squad members to drop or reinstate in the starting XI for reverse fixture next Thursday, February 21.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that BATE Borisov beat the Arsenal 1-0 in the first leg of their Europa League round of 32 encounter.

The home fans were sent into serious jubilation at the Borisov Arena considering the fact that they have lost all three of their previous home games against English clubs in European competition.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
