A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state, Lura Musulmi, has resigned his membership of the ruling party ahead of the general elections.
Lura Musulmi, who serves as the APC deputy director campaign for Dalhatu Abubakar Kantana, the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro federal constituency of Bauchi state, said was no longer interested in remaining a member of the ruling party.

The politician however neither gave any further reason for his decision to quit the party nor did he states that he was defecting to any other party, Sahara Reporters stated.
“I am no longer interested in the APC, neither am I interested in remaining in the campaign team of the party for Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro local governments in these elections. And please, note that it is a personal decision,” he said.
In another news report, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Sokoto state has received no fewer than 100,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

NAN reports that Malam Bashir Mani, the special assistant on media and publicity to the APC leader in Sokoto state, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, said that the new entrants into the APC were received by Wamakko on Wednesday, February 13, during the party’s campaign in Sokoto North and Sokoto South local governments.
Legit.ng gathered that over 88,000 of the defectors were formerly executives and members of the SDP drawn from the 23 LGAs of the state.
