Anthony Joshua title defence at Madison Square Garden breaks 1 surprising record

- Anthony Joshua will defend his WBA Super, IBF, WBO and IBO titles on June 1 in New York

- General sale of tickets to boxing fans will commence 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 19

Anthony Joshua's world title defence fight against America’s Jarrell Miller has emerged Madison Square Garden highest-grossing pre-sale boxing event despite the arena not revealing the figure.

According to Daily Mail, boxing fans are keen on seeing the Nigerian-born boxer fight in America against the unbeaten Miller, and have succeeded in breaking the pre-sale ticket record within 120 minutes of commencing sale.

Meanwhile, general sale of tickets is expected to commence on StubHub at 12:00 on Tuesday, February 19 after Monday's pre-sale for Matchroom Fight Pass members.

Boxing fans wishing to be part of the audience that will watch Joshua square up against the 'Big Baby' are advised to move swiftly to avoid missing of the fight.

Interestingly, Joshua, who holds the WBA Super, IBF, WBO and IBO titles will face Miller on June 1 in New York, with additional live broadcast on DAZN in the US along with Sky Sports Box Office for UK viewers.

Tickets for the world title defence at the Madison Square Garden range from £80 to £2,000.

We know that AJ is a huge box office hit in the UK but to break the pre-sale record at the iconic Madison Square Garden is astounding,” promoter Eddie Hearn was quoted as saying to the Daily Mail.

“We are building a huge event on June 1 and we look forward to the all the build-up beginning with next Tuesday's press conference in New York,” he stressed.

On his part, executive vice president of MSG Marquee Events, Joel Fisher is upbeat the fight will be a reference point.

“We are thrilled with the early excitement for tickets,” said Fisher.

“Anthony Joshua versus Jarrell Miller will be an epic event at Madison Square Garden and we encourage fans to purchase tickets now because this fight will sell out,” he summed up.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Deontay Wilder insists Anthony Joshua alongside challenger Jarrell Miller are unpopular in the USA with the pair set to fight at Madison Square Garden on June 1.

According to UK Sun report, Wilder could not agree terms with Anthony Joshua after negotiations over a possible fight broke down, forcing the American to fight Tyson Fury last year.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
