After polls postponement, Atiku departs Adamawa for emergency PDP meeting in Abuja

- Hours after the postponement of the general polls by INEC, PDP's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has revealed his plans to travel to Abuja

- Atiku revealed on Saturday, February 16, that he would leave Adamawa for Abuja for a series of emergency meetings

- He urged INEC to quickly make efforts to ensure the safety of all its sensitive materials already dispatched to local units

Following the postponement of the general polls, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s flag bearer on Saturday, February 16, revealed that he will be in Abuja for crucial talks with some bigwigs in the party, Premium Times reports.

Speaking with newsmen in Jimeta, near Yola, the state capital of Adamawa, in the early hours of Saturday, Atiku expressed shock over the shift of the polls and announced that he will be on his way to Abuja.

Moreover, the PDP's presidential candidate advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to quickly make efforts to ensure the safety of all its sensitive materials already dispatched to local units.

Atiku said: “As long as they are secure and they are in the right places, there is nothing to worry about.”

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Atiku had alleged that the postponement of the general election by INEC was “obviously a case of the hand of Esau but the voice of Jacob.”

Atiku blamed the postponement of the elections on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, saying the government had "more than enough time and money to prepare".

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
