Accept outcome of election - Senator Manager urges Uduaghan

- The winner of the Delta south senatorial election, Senator James Manager of the PDP, urges his follow contestants to accept the outcome of the election

- Manager says the election victory is more about Delta south senatorial district and not about himself

- The senator congratulates other candidates and ascribed his victory to the work of God

The winner of the Delta south senatorial election, Senator James Manager of the PDP, has urged his fellow contestant, Emmanuel Uduaghan of the APC to accept the outcome of the election in the interest of the people.

Manager made the statement after Uduaghan wrote a petition calling for the cancellation of the result over alleged election malpractice, Vanguard reports.

But Senator Manager in response, told Uduaghan, who he called a brother, that all contestants were together. He said the election was about Delta south senatorial district.

“To all my fellow candidates, particularly my main challenger, my brother, friend, ally and “Oga”, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, we are all winners together after all it is about Delta South senatorial district," he said.

“I want to sincerely thank my teeming supporters, by that I mean all in Delta south. I want to thank you all for giving me your support thus far. Your support is what I don’t take for granted.

“So, I am grateful to everybody for their continued confidence and faith in me. This victory is for all delta southerners. I am most grateful to Almighty God who has made this victory possible.

Senator Manager said his victory is not about him. He also congratulated other candidates and ascribed his victory to the work of God.

In another news report, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has said he has retired a former governor of the state and incumbent senator representing Benue north west, George Akume, as he promised to do.

Ortom made the statement when reacting to Akume’s defeat by the serving House of Representatives member representing Buruku constituency, Emmanuel Yisa Orker Jev, in six out of seven local government areas of the state, The New Telegraph reports.

The governor stated that Akume deserved the humiliating defeat for playing God in Benue politics. He described the senator’s defeat as an act of God.
