Sira revealed that he had been on his way to London with his girlfriend when she complained about smelling petrol. He put a call through to his mechanic who explained that since the car had just been serviced it was normal to smell petrol.

However the smell got stronger and his girlfriend told him to roll down the windows. They eventually pulled over and heard a loud bang before the car went up in flames.

According to Daily Mail, the young business man said: “I was on the way to London with my girlfriend for a night out as I just had the car back and wanted to drive it around.

'We had only gone one junction when my girlfriend smelt petrol in the car, so I called the garage's mechanic.

'He said 'the car has just been for a service and it is usual to smell a bit of fuel', so there wasn't a problem.

'So we carried on a bit further and my girlfriend asked me to open the windows, because the smell of fuel had got that strong.

'I stopped on the hard shoulder, between J5 and J6, to remove the roof but then the next thing was we heard a loud bang, it was like a firework going off, and the back of my car caught fire.

'I just had to watch helplessly as the car which I had worked so hard to buy went up in smoke.

'We nearly died, if I didn't pull over when I did I dread to think what happened. It was very frightening and my girlfriend is scared to get in any car with me now.

'I am meeting with my solicitor to see whether to take legal action as I can't believe its a coincidence that I'd only just had the car back from the garage."

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
