2019 election: APC wins Reps seat in Oyo as party leads in Edo north

- APC has won a House of Representative seat in Oyo state

- Olajide Olatubosun, the winner, would represent Saki east, Saki west and Oyo north senatorial district at National Assembly

- The ruling party is also reported to be leading in Edo north where Adams Oshomhole hails from

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the House of Representatives poll for the Atisbo, Saki east, Saki west federal constituency, Oyo north senatorial district in Oyo state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Premium Times reports that the candidate of the party, Olajide Olatunbosun, would now represent the constituency in the next session of the National Assembly.

Legit.ng gathered that the constituency has 207,695 registered voters and Olatunbosun won Saturday, February 23, poll with 27,115 votes while the PDP candidate, Adeagbo Fasasi, polled 24,139.

The AAC polled 267, ADC 10314 while ADP got 2952 votes.

Olatunbosun is a serving member of the House and would be representing the constituency for the second term.

He won his first term in the House also on the platform of the APC.

In related development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is maintaining a lead in Edo north senatorial district where national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, hails from.

The Nation reports that a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who pleaded anonymity confirmed this on Sunday, February 24.

The chieftain said results from the wards showed the APC leading with a wide margin.

In Estako central, the state chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, won in only his Ogbonna ward while the APC won in the remaining nine wards.

Prof. Julius Ihonvbere who is seeking to represent Owan federal constituency secured victory for the APC in nine out of ten wards in Owan west and won in eight wards out of ten in Owan east.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in Imo, delivered his polling unit in Nkwerre local government area of Imo state state to President Muhammadu Buhari.
