Sultan of Sokoto says traditional rulers remain fathers of all, prays for successful 2019 elections

- The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has urged politicians to practice the game of politics according to the law

- The royal father asserted that traditional rulers remained fathers of all and prayed for successful conduct of 2019 general elections

- The traditional ruler spoke against corruption in all forms and advised politicians against breeding any form violence

The president general, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has urged politicians to practice the game of politics according to the law, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathered that the sultan while receiving President Muhammadu Buhari during a courtesy visit, asserted that traditional rulers remained fathers of all and prayed for successful conduct of 2019 general elections.

The sultan assured that they would continue to give their fatherly advice for the interest of people. He added that they should not consider politics as war.

The president general while harping on peaceful coexistence, he advised politicians against breeding any form violence.

The sultan who also spoke against corruption in all forms, adding that Islam discourages evils assured to partner with all organs in promoting transparency and accountable dealings, urging people to cooperate with organisations in ensuring good governance.

The religious leader lauded President Buhari for the efforts towards tackling security challenges.

However, he urged the government to provide adequate working tools and encouragement to security agencies while advising personnel to live up the expectations.

The sultan presented a pamphlet on good leadership to President Muhammad Buhari.

President Buhari who was in Sokoto for the presidential rally of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) pledged to continue to provide purposeful governance focused on infrastructural development and enhancing people’s lives in the country.

Buhari arrived southeast states of Anambra and Enugu same Thursday, January 24, for presidential campaign preparatory for February 16 presidential election.

Ohanaeze had fixed Thursday, January 24, for an apex meeting of the group, Imeobi, where highest decisions of Ndigbo are made.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
