Reactions follow after Bisi Alimi urged women to get jobs and make money rather than be housewives

Gay activist Bisi Alimi is known for weighing in on several issues bordering gender and several other orientations that are yet to garner large acceptance. Recently, the man took to addressing the all important issue of financial independence as it concerns females.

The man took to his Facebook page to register his discontent about the few number of females known to apply for jobs these days. According to him, women were meant to be bold, assertive and dynamic job seekers.

Hence, Bisi Alimi assertively called out to women and told them to go out to the world and seek for jobs. He told them not to let the male folks dominate the business sector of the country by putting in for job vacancies all the time.

Bisi was quite confident about the abilities of women. According to him, women were more serious when it came to doing a good job as they always had an idea of what it was they wanted for themselves.

Because of this, the 43-year-old asked ladies not to wile away time by making dinner in the kitchen when they can actually go out there to make money.

See his post below:

"Dear Nigerian women, I am writing to you as an employer, pls be bold, be assertive. Apply for jobs, apply for training opportunities, put yourself out there. It is really sad to see that 99% of applications are from men and when women apply, they are mostly the best.

"These men apply for jobs not because they are good, sometimes they dont even know what they are applying for. They mostly apply for these jobs cos they are men and they can. When women apply for job, most of the times, they do because they know for sure they can do the job and this is why it is sad.

"This is what patriarchy does to your mentality, it screws it up. It curbs your progress, it stops you from moving forward. Nigerian women, your place is in the office making money and not in the kitchen making dinner. Thanks."

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
