French club Monaco had agreed to take the Belgium international until the end of the season but Chelsea blocked the deal as they want cash.

Last term, Batshuayi was a hit at German club Borussia Dortmund scoring nine goals in 14 matches on loan in the second half of the season.

But he was unable to replicate his rich vein of form at Spanish club Valencia as he managed to score only one goal for the club.

Chelsea on the other hand are also looking forward to sign a striker before the January transfer window closes with reports that Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain could join them this weekend.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League giants Chelsea reportedly agreed a transfer deal with Italian club Juventus for the signing of 31-year-old Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Blues are said to have agreed a loan deal with the Old Lady for Gonzalo Higuain to play at Stamford Bridge till the end of the ongoing Premier League season.

Gonzalo Higuain's arrival at Chelsea will also pave the way for Alvaro Morata to leave for Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
