Omoni Oboli schools an online beggar who asked for N1k to feed

Social media has always been the fastest and most efficient link between celebrities and their fans. In a recent post on her Instagram page, actress Omoni Oboli used the platform to school online beggars.

The Nollywood screen diva recently took to her social media page to post a screenshot from the comment section of an older post. In the screenshot, the lady had posted a comment in which she had requested for N1,000 from anyone that cared to help on the actress page.

Oboli, however, replied to the lady’s comment. She advised the young lady in a long response where she revealed that this was not the first time she had spotted the lady’s comment about needing money. The actress went on to add that if the lady had money to subscribe for data, she could as well gather every naira she had previously received, and use it to start a small business.

She continued in the screenshot by using her own personal experience to motivate the online beggar. Oboli revealed that she had once sold fairly used clothes and worked as a food vendor in Lagos. She called on the young lady who she had described as young and healthy not to waste her life as a professional beggar.

The Nollywood actress continued her admonishment to online beggars in the caption that followed the screenshot which she posted on her page. She bared her mind saying that when begging becomes a lifestyle, it gets worrisome. She also narrated the old days when beggars were disguised as young and neatly dressed guys. The disguised beggars often approached unsuspecting people with the claim that they were short of transport fare.

Buhari’s Legacy Of Recessions By Fredrick Nwabufo

Fredrick Nwabufo ‘Why always Buhari?’ As it was in 1984 under General Buhari, so it is in 2016 and 2020 under President Buhari? Is it by the unfortunate hands of kismet that recession hits Nigeria every time Buhari takes charge of the country’s affairs? If the recession of the 80s under Buhari was a conspiracy by economic and political factors, to what do we attribute that of his first coming as a civilian President — and now in his second coming? Why does pestilence scourge the land, hunger ravage the population and lives lost malevolently when Buhari presides over the country? Why always Buhari? Buhari’s undoing is his wonted predilection for hierarchising ethnicity, religion and loyalty above competence. Since 1999, no President has obtrusively shown a more nepotistic aspect than Buhari. It is unarguable that the President arrays the most competence-challenged cabinet ever in the chronicle of governance in Nigeria. Yes, a recession cabinet. Fredrick Nwabufo Here is a cabin...
