Nigerian Army kill Boko Haram terrorists, recover arms in Borno

- Troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole have killed four Boko Haram terrorists in Borno state

- Colonel Ado Isa, the deputy director of public relations, 7 division Nigerian Army made this known on Friday, January 25

- The soldiers also recovered 4 AK-47 Rifles with registration numbers 58012289, 565240898 and 58006027 among others

The Nigerian Army on Friday, January 25, declared that it had killed four Boko Haram insurgents and recovered 4 AK-47 Rifles with registration numbers 58012289, 565240898 and 58006027, respectively during the clearance operation.

Channel TV reports that that other items that the troops recovered include three Rifle Magazines containing 32 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition and three bicycles.

This is contained in a statement by Colonel Ado Isa, the deputy director of public relations, 7 division Nigerian Army.

Isa said troops of 7 division of the Army conducted a clearance operation on suspected terrorists hideout along Makinta Meleri in Konduga local government area of the state.

In reaction, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, according to Colonel Isa, commended the troops for their doggedness.

Brigadier General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu, the COAS, while speaking through the acting general officer commanding of the division and commander sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole, urged them to sustain the war against terrorism until the terrorists are flushed out and total peace and security are restored.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that troops of Operation Lafiya Dole located at Gudumbali in northern Borno state repelled an infiltration by suspected Boko Haram terrorists that came disguised as civilian Internally Displaced Persons and inserted themselves in the community.

This is contained in a statement released by the deputy director public relations, Onyema Nwachukwu on Friday, December 14.

Nwachukwu stated that the terrorists took advantage of the ongoing distribution of relief materials by the Nigerian Army at Gudumbali and opened fire on troops location which was followed by rapid fire from other terrorists in gun trucks along Gudumbali-Kukawa axis.

The trucks conveying the relief materials were set ablaze. However, the troops however fought gallantly and maneuvered the attackers and inflicted heavy casualties on them.
