New Year: Oba of Benin gives crucial warning to youths

- Youths have been cautioned by Oba Ewaure II to desist from evil activities capable of ruining their futures

- The monarch said that for the young ones to excel in life, they must eschew all forms of youthful delinquencies

- Oba Ewuare further reassured the people of the Benin kingdom of a better life

Oba Ewuare II of Benin has cautioned youths to desist from evil activities capable of ruining their futures.

The monarch gave the advice at a lavish reception for the youth on Saturday, January 5, at the palace ground in Benin, NAN reports.

Legit.ng gathers that he said that for the young ones to excel in life, they must eschew all forms of youthful delinquencies and focus on virtues that would make them future leaders.

Oba Ewuare also cautioned them to always be diligent in their behaviours, noting that obedience to parents’ instructions was key to generational blessings.

He added that the palace had concluded arrangements to host the event twice a year.

The monarch further reassured the people of the kingdom of a better life, stressing that the it would do everything within its powers to ensure that peace and tranquility reigned in Benin kingdom and Edo, at large.

The event also featured a dance competition and various prizes given to winners, while white pigeons were released as a symbol of peace and tranquility in the state.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the curse placed on human traffickers in Edo state by the Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II, led to the death of three persons including a young man from the state who was based in Napoli, Italy.

The young man was said to be a notorious human trafficker. The other two deceased persons were armed robbers who died in their sleep after returning from a robbery operation.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
