Man robs cousin on holiday in Nigeria, gives items to his girlfriend

Social media is currently buzzing with the story of a man who was arrested for robbing his cousin of everything he returned with on his visit to Nigeria.

Blood may be thicker than water but it appears in this situation, the importance of family was thrown away alongside caution. A young man identified as Ebube Osinachi Okoye, left many people in shock after he robbed his own cousin.

According to reports, the cousin who was on a holiday visit in Nigeria when the said cousin came around and robbed him of everything including his last pound sterling. The victim revealed that Okoye was his most trusted cousin.

Luck ran out on the thief after he was caught on January 3, in Ekwulobia, Anambra State, and some of the stolen properties were recovered from his girlfriend.

The story which has since gone viral on social media, garnered several reactions from people who described Okoye as a greedy person who betrayed his own family.

In a similar story, as young man identified as Abbas Ope, has reportedly confessed to stealing his former boss’ car, dog and television to feed his siblings and make them enjoy the Christmas that was recently celebrated across the world.

Arrested at the Ojuelegba area of Lagos by the Decoy Team of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Boxing Day while trying to sell the car, a Toyota Avensis 2013 model marked AGL 734 AR for N2 million, Ope was said to have stormed the Magodo home of his former boss, Ifoghale Ekinodo, while he and his family were in Delta for the holiday and took away the car, the dog and the 100-inch television.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
