Man City star equals unbelievable record following FA Cup win over Rotherham

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan made a remarkable achievement when the Citizen's dismantled Rotherham in their third round of the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola's side thrashed the Championship side by 7-0 where all the goals were scored by seven different players.

England star Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden opened the flood gates and an own goal by Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi put the tie to rest before half time.

The Premier League champions came out smoking in the second period with Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez registering the fourth and fifth goal respectively.

Argentine defender Nicolas Otamendi headed home the sixth goal before Leroy Sane completed the rout to send Rothernham packing from the competition.

On the other hand, Gundogan who failed to get his name on the scoresheet, provided four assists in the one-sided game.

And now, he is the first player to notch four assists in one English game since Santi Carzola for Arsenal almost six years ago in the Gunners 4-1 win over Wigan.

Rotherham managerPaul Warne, who channelled his inner Pep Guardiola, declared he was "pleased when the final whistle came."

He added: "Their slowest player is quicker than my quickest player."
