Lady recounts how she was tricked into taking one-way, extorted of N26k in Lagos

- A lady has taken to social media to cry out for help after she was tricked into taking a one-way road in Lagos

- She revealed that a young man dressed as a traffic warden deceived her into using the route

- According to her post, she was later ambushed and extorted of N26,000 by the man and his colleagues

It appears that criminal minds disguised as law enforcement officers have devised a new means of abusing their powers and extorting money from innocent citizens and this Nigerian lady happens to be the latest victim.

Identified as @mimibridals on Instagram, the entrepreneur took to the picture-sharing platform to cry out for help after she was tricked and extorted of N26,000. According to the posts which she put up, while she was driving to deliver a some goods, she stopped and asked for directions from a man dressed like a traffic warden.

She revealed that the man not only demanded an incentive for giving her directions (which she obliged), he joined her in the car and asked to be dropped in front of his office. On getting there however, he beckoned on his colleagues and they accused her of using one way, charging her a fine of N26,000 which she paid.

In a similar story of extortion by supposed Nigerian officers of the law, a young Nigerian man recently took to the Twitter platform to recount how he was brutalized by police officers who also extorted money from him in Ogun state.

The man claimed that he was arrested alongside his friend for nor reason. He explained that they forced him to write a statement, claiming that he is a yahoo boy and collected N20,00 from him.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo.
