I didn't slump, wasn't rushed to hospital; it's fake news - Tinubu fires back

- APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has debunked reports that he slumped and was rushed to the hospital

- Tinubu urged Nigerians not to believe the report, dismissing it as 'fake news'

- The APC chieftain also explained why ruling party governors were absent at the party's inaugural presidential campaign council meeting

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has debunked reports that he slumped and was rushed to the hospital.

Tinubu, who received representatives of traditional rulers from the south-west led by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, in Abuja on Friday, January 11, dismissed the reports as "fake news," Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathers that he stated further: “Whoever is manufacturing it, you better not believe them.”

Tinubu also reacted to reports on the absence of APC governors at the inaugural meeting of the presidential campaign council, also dismissing it as fake news.

He said: “The point is, the governors had to stay back because we all don’t have to converge in one place to decide certain modalities when we can easily go back to them on what was discussed and what we expect from your state. That is what we call structuring in an election."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the co-chair of the APC presidential campaign council, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, assured Muhammadu Buhari that the body had accepted the assignment given it by the president and will work for the country.

Tinubu, in a personally signed statement, said the council would not let President Buhari down because doing so would also let down the nation.

The chieftain of the APC, therefore, rallied members of the campaign council with minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi, as director-general, for the task ahead.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year. This did not however, materialize. According to the release, the project will have a four to five-year execution time after the signing of the FID.
