- The former Nantes star had just signed for Cardiff City and was making a trip to Wales to start training before his plane disappeared

- Search and rescue operation for the star and the player were called off but the Chelsea will hope they can further extend their search on the player

Chelsea star N'Golo Kante has reportedly offered to finance the search of missing Cardiff City player Emiliano Sala and his pilot.

The 28-year-old recently joined the Premier League side from Nantes but was on his way to Wales from France to start training with his new side before his plane disappeared on Monday, January 21.

The news sent football world into panic as all efforts to locate the plane or the passengers remain unfruitful.

However, rescue operation has been carried out but there was no sign of the plane and the two passengers are yet to be rescued.

After embarking on a three day search of the English Channel, the rescue team gave up all hopes, while authorities also said they were “no longer actively searching" for the missing plane.

Football stars including Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero have however called on the authorities to resume the search for the Sala and the pilot.

A private search after a crowdfunding campaign is also said to have been launched, with Kante the latest addition to the list of top footballers calling for the search mission to resume.

According to reports, the Chelsea star is keen to fund the search for his former teammate while at Caen in 2015 from his own pockets.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Lionel Messi has charged the authorities to resume the search for missing Argentine star Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson.

The 28-year-old Argentine was due to arrive Cardiff City earlier this week following his £15 million deal from Nantes this month.

His plane was said to have disappeared on Monday near Guernsey and a three-day search of the English Channel was called off on Thursday.

NLNG Signs Letter Of Intent On Delayed Gas Expansion Project

The Nigerian Natural Liquefied Gas LTD has signed a letter of intent for the engineering, procurement and construction of its long held up Train Seven project. In a statement released by the company on Wednesday, it said that the $10bn project will be executed by a consortium of Italian firm Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo. The statement reads, “The project will form part of the investment of over $10bn including the upstream scope of the LNG value chain, thereby boosting the much needed Foreign Direct Investment profile of Nigeria.” Managing Director of NLNG, Tony Atta, said in 2018 that the Final Investment Decision would be made in the fourth quarter of that year.
